black domestic shorthair

I wanted to start a blog about my beaded jewelry business, SarasinArt, and some of my other adventures.   The jewelry business has been pushed aside for now, but I like writing blogs and a lot of people enjoy reading them, so I’ll keep going!

I’m getting older and many of my blogs are rants due to the fact that many facets of life today don’t seem right to me, so bear with the old hippie chick being opinionated!

Many are also about my love of the work I did for 24 years before retiring 1/1/14, working with mentally ill adults.  Those of us who work in this field do all we can to improve the lives of people with mental illnesses.

Many of my blogs are also about my crazy cat, who is my good buddy who helps to keep me young(er).

Food is a main topic with me, especially after developing diabetes a couple years ago. New ways to eat and enjoy it, some of which I’ll be glad to share!

Thanks for reading! Please leave me comments; they are appreciated!

  1. Thanks for visiting and following Grannys Pantry and Grandads garden; we too are getting older and rant away quite happily about the state of the UK and so on! Good to know there are others out there!

  2. Thanks for stopping by my blog and liking today’s post. Like you, I often times rant about one thing or another. It’s a good way to vent. Visit again soon and I’ll do the same.

  3. Hi Sarasin, I just found your blog via the search term ‘snow’ and from there read about your cat. I’ve been a cat fan too all my life. Mine likes boxes. His latest box toy is a cracker box with both ends cut out. He runs into it head first and swipes at me with his paws. Cats are great.

  4. Thank you so much for nominating for Inspiring Blogger Award! It will take me a few days to pass the award along to some others, but I have some good ones in mind. There are so many good blogs that it’s hard to choose tho.

  5. Personally I don’t see anything wrong in having a good rant or being opinionated. :).

I rant & express opinions myself whenever the need arises, which, for the same reasons that you have mentioned is happening more & more.

  6. You have a beautiful cat, look forward to your posts and reading through the older ones, nice to ‘meet’ you ~Scott

  7. Thanks, she is a beauty. Nice to “meet”: you too, and your beautiful artwork! There’s a lot of older ramblings back there, been writing it for a while now. I’m always glad when people enjoy it.

    • Wow, thanks for doing that! Now I have several questions, one I should probably know the answer to, lol. How can you tell how many followers a blog has? I don’t have a clue! And, am I supposed to answer the same questions you answered and am I supposed to make up some for the people I nominate? This will take a while cos I don’t have much time…work full time and have a very sick mother in a nursing home. Thank you! I write my blog cos I enjoy it and enjoy knowing that others like reading it, so a way to get more readers is always a good thing! Happy Gardening!

  8. Yes it took me a while as well. I forgot to make up questions! Uh oh! If you are in the reader section of wordpress and scrolling through the list of blogs you follow…if you click on the small name of the blog in the bottom right corner of blog preview…a new page opens which shows the blog and number of followers. Sorry for the extra work 🙂

    • OK, I found a way to find out how many followers the ones I follow have, so I can do it. I see now you added questions, ok!

    • And thanks for checking out mine. My cat is crazy and helps to keep me young(er). There are lots of blogs about her, but in the summer I keep finding gardening info and hints entertaining my blogging-mind. She presented herself here as if to remind me I hadn’t showed her lovely self off for a while. Be well and travel on! You have great pictures.

  9. Is the peacock background a new addition to the blog? If not I wonder how is it that I did not notice it earlier? It is beautiful.
