I’ve neglected the blog for a few non-important reasons, but need to get back to writing. I’ve had some health issues that are either resolved or resolving. Getting old is still not for sissies. But it’s ok and still beats the alternative.
This dear old cat will be 14 soon too; got her at about the same time I started the blog. Chuckie and Geyri are both almost 5, and they still keep me entertained.

It’s winter in Pennsylvania and I’m still complaining about that, but it does give me the chance to take some good pictures.

He stayed still long enough for me to get this good one. The ones above just wanted to know if I would be giving more bird seed today.

One more I just took yesterday. It is a sign of better things to come, but I have also seen these flowers blooming in 20 degrees and under snow.

Yea, I need to get back to blogging. It does provide some de-stressing when so many things feel overwhelming.
Good to see you, friend. Happy to know you are getting better. I love these photos. Squirrels are so adorable! Kisses to those scaly darlings.
Thanks. I’ll be back and stick around. I hope you are well. I need to catch up.
You better stick around, missy😀
I adore those lizard kids of yours and your posts. We’re alright. Crazy busy. We’re not keeping up with posts very well here, either.
Oh… I’m so glad to meet you again. I was really worried about you. It was fun seeing a new post with beautiful photographs and it made me already look forward to your 2024 adventures in the garden.
It’s also a nice surprise to see that adorable sweet cat again, (and Chuckie and Geyri). Wishing you both all the best, my dear friends!
The old cat lays around and sleeps a lot, and the once in a while gets up and tears into things like some kitten! I’m sorry, didn’t mean to worry you. Oh yea, I’ll be posting about the garden. Be well my dear.
Thank you! So glad we’re heading to spring and we can leave winter behind for another year…
Heading there but our will take a while. February isn’t usually fun and some of our biggest snow storms have been in March. Take care and stay warm.
Ahhh…. snow… the horror… the horror…!! 😉
Oh my! Geyri and Chuckie are not ‘quite’ as terrifying as they were, but the kitty and squirrel were a bit unexpected. I was wondering where you had been. I thought that I might have stopped following your blog. (I did that with another blog by clicking the wrong option.)
You know I like to surprise you with pictures! I have stitches in a finger now from a small surgery and it’s ugly but I won’t show you that. I just had some things going on but it’s ok and I’ll be back to keep you awake with more unexpected pictures.
OH! I really do not need to see THAT!
No I’ll spare everybody with that. I’ll write one about some old cars that you might like tho.
Cars? That is not your style.
You’re right, it’s not, except these cars are old like me, lol. We discovered this place because our historical society has a unique 1910 car. One of our members knew about this museum and asked if they would put our car on display there, which they did. It’s an Overland, which became Willys/Jeep in time, and the dealership has them plus Chrysler.
Oh, that is almost too old. I do not remember Overland, and can barely remember Willys. My last Chrysler was really a Mercedes Benz. It was a bit embarrassing.
Overland was way before your time, yea, 1926. And we haven’t heard the name Willys for many years. I had no idea there was a merger between Chrysler and Mercedes; interesting. But I don’t pay much attention to cars.
I do not keep track of cars nowadays. For the first time in my life, I tried to purchase a new car two years ago. I could find NOTHING that I wanted to spend money on. The fleet manager here found Carson, or Rhody’s Roady, the old 1994 Roadmaster, which is surprisingly similar to the old Electras. I have been VERY pleased with it, but only because it is old and resembles even older cars.
I haven’t kept track of cars for years. Back when cars were………..cars. 🙂
‘The Breakfast Club’ begins with the kids arriving to detention with their parents. Their parents’ cars say a lot about the parents and how the kids are raised. The ‘princess’ arrives in an flashy BMW. The ‘brain’ arrives in a simple but practical Dodge Aries. The ‘athlete’ arrives in an athletic Bronco II. The ‘basket case’ arrives in an ominous Seville with tinted windows. The ‘criminal’ walked, perhaps because he lived nearby, but perhaps because his parents did not care enough to give a ride. Young people do not understand the significance of these four vehicles and lack of a vehicle.
I watched the movie several times but it was forever ago. And you remember the cars and their significance. I don’t, and I know that I did not see those distinctions at the time. An awareness I didn’t have at that time.
Also, it was such a common perception that it was not worth remembering. You might notice it more now that cars are so meaningless.
Cars did used to have a different place in many lives, for different reasons.
