I tried this, and it works! You can use an ordinary glass jar that had a seal when it was new, or mason jars too.  Very simple, and all you need is a $6 tool and some electrical tape.  Really, check this out! She gives you complete instructions.

It would be excellent for keeping fresh produce fresh for a longer period of time.  I’m going to use it to store dehydrated veggies also.
