Ahh, summer, when you can grow food

growing food

Here’s a big bunch of tomatoes, some of which will be shared, some eaten, and some dehydrated.  Lots more coming.

I’ve been picking green beans and black eyed peas every couple days.  Not enough to dehydrate each time, so I’m eating them as they go along, lol.  I don’t mind that at all!

Glorious summer, when there is a bounty if you planned it right, and warm days to enjoy it all.  Sitting on the back porch snapping beans, for instance. Listening to birds and cicadas.   Yessss.

  1. those tomatoes look fabulous! to me, this is the perfect time of every year… the harvest, nearing autumn, looking forward to those evening on the porch

  2. Thanks! It is a beautiful time of the year, you’re right. I’ve got good earth here, land that is respected, and wants to grow things. Respect for the earth is important.

  3. Those tomatoes are gorgeous and I’ll bet tasty! I love this time of year. Warm days and cool mornings with just a hint of autumn in the air.

    • Thanks! I like autumn too Jackie, except for I know what’s coming next. Winter is sure not my favorite. But the fall is beautiful, full of great colors. And still lots more tomatoes to pick too, lol! I know that you will take some great fall pictures!

      • Awww thanks – that’s very kind of you to say. I’m already seeing color changes here and there. I’m not a total fan of winter either but you gotta take the bad with the good. 😀
