Small Town America is a good place to be. It’s nice to block off the main streets and have vendors come from all over to sell neat things. It’s nice to have thousands of people come from miles away to our little town to enjoy a slow paced day of good fun and good food.
It’s ok to have to wait in line for kettle corn, and not be pushed and shoved around by impatient people who are always in a hurry to get….where? It’s a good reason to have a little talk with a stranger while you wait there, and find out where they are from, and what they bought today. Or talk to an old friend you haven’t seen for a while.
In a crazy chaotic fast paced world, some simple things are still so important. It hit me while I was waiting in line for that kettle corn, how blessed we are to be able to do that. Strangers all around of all different backgrounds, ages, and ideologies, and the common idea among them all was to have a nice day. Thousands of people did that. Nobody disagreed on it being a wonderful day.
It looks like it was a wonderful day! It’s nice to read about the good things in life. 😀
It was Jackie. It’s nice to be able to experience simple things and remember to appreciate them. Like your walks at the Harbor!
